It's official - James is home safe and sound from his first deployment! We were a little worried since it was pouring rain in both Korea and Japan when we woke up on Saturday - but thankfully the weather did not prevent our jets from returning on time.
All of the wives, plus many of our friends in the 13th (the other squadron on base) gathered in our squadron bar to wait for their arrival. Then when it was time, we each had a pilot and a team of friends armed with cameras escort us out onto the flight line to watch our boys land and welcome them home with a beer and a kiss. James was the second to land. It was such a relief to see his jet materialize out of the clouds and the rain.

Customary Samurai Greeting!

My lovely personal paparazzi.

Russ and Denia came out from the 13th to welcome him too!

Ahh! I was so anxious for him to get out of that jet!

The rain made his hair stick straight up. Haha.

Some of the top commanders on base came out to welcome them back.

Reunion, finally!!

So happy!
We stuck around for a couple hours afterward to welcome the others home and take pictures of their wives. There were many joyful reunions - especially for the people with small children, or babies that were born during the deployment. Now we have two weeks off to relax and get settled back into living together before the guys go back to work. Such a blessing! Thanks for all of your prayers for his safety!
