Last Day in Misawa

Our final day in Japan was very surreal. Even though we were living out of suitcases at the Inn and running around taking care of the final items on our check-list, the reality that we were leaving the next day had not sunk in. However, we still tried our best to make the most of our final hours in Misawa. Most of that involved eating at our favorite restaurants in town and spending as much quality time with friends as possible.

For lunch, we went out to enjoy something we know it will be difficult to get outside of Japan - real ramen! It was delicious!

That night we were joined by several of our closest friends and neighbors from the squadron at our favorite restaurant in Misawa. We didn't make a big deal about saying farewell... we'd been through enough of that over the last couple weeks. It was just a casual opportunity to hang out with the people we love till we meet again.

Sadly, our departure finally hit me at the end of the dinner as we were saying farewell, and the waterworks began. But it was a brief period of mourning. It was time to leave and we were ready to go. On to new adventures!
