True Love Waits 2013

My final week working at the chapel was a hectic one because we were concluding our third annual True Love Waits series and preparing for the commitment banquet and ceremony that Saturday. This year, TLW was a little different because we decided to open it up to the catholic students as well. This was a great opportunity to work together as the body of Christ. But it did make planning an eccumenical service a bit of a challenge. Thankfully, everything came together beautifully, and I got to enjoy watching some of our students apply their faith in a powerful way, one last time. =^)

Since the event fell just after Valentine's Day, we went with a red and white theme
Me and my fellow Club Beyond leaders, Victoria (Catholic Youth) and Beth (Club Beyond Coordinator)
The Jantz Family, who we are very close to, celebrated their younger daughter Deborah's commitment!
All of the students lined up to receive their gifts from Dave and Beth
Dave and Beth (our CB coordinators) are also very musically gifted and led the worship
Victoria and I giving some opening remarks and congratulating the students
After each family signed a certificate commemorating the commitment, the girls received a purity ring!
The most touching things at these ceremonies is definitely seeing the families making this commitment together and prayng publically over their children

What a pleasure! I love these students and am so proud of the counter cultural commitment they chose to publically make that day.
