Kaden's First Camping Trip. Sort of.

The weather has been GORGEOUS outside lately (70s and hazy sunshine) so we've been coming up with fun ways to get out and enjoy it before the sweltering summer heat sets in. A couple of weeks ago our commanders organized a camping trip at the park here on base. We weren't sure if that's really allowed - but they figured it was only 4 days before their change of command so, what's the worst that could happen? Many people pitched tents and grilled out. Others just showed up for a couple of hours to hang out and roast marshmallows. Since the "camp sight" was only a 5 minute walk from home - why not? James was actually out golfing with some of his close friends so I got Kaden all dressed up in a camping outfit, spread out a blanket and savored some time outdoors. He particularly enjoyed snuggling with some of my good friends, eating dinner while sitting on the ground as opposed to being strapped to his high chair, and trying to pet the dogs that were there. Kaden LOVES dogs! I'm thankful he's almost at the age where he can actually enjoy family excursions. This next year is going to be fun. :^)

He is so adorable!! What a terrific idea to camp on base. We would have totally attended. :)
