Last weekend we joined some friends on a short road trip to the near by army post where they have a great outdoor water park called Splish 'n Splash. They have a big, shallow pool and lots of fountains where the babies could crawl through the water. It seemed like a great way to get outside the gate (wink, wink) and enjoy a beautiful, sunny day!
As always, it took Kaden a little time to get his bearings. But after a couple of minutes, he was happily sitting in the water and splashing around.
It was fun watching his little friends charge in with no fear. The Hofmanns have a season pass to Splish 'n Splash because Riley loves it so much and it's a great way to wear her out before nap time. She was bear crawling around the shallow end and had no problem getting her face wet if she stumbled. Jack went swimming all the time in America so he couldn't wait to get in the water. We're planning to go again this coming weekend for a friend's birthday party. Hopefully Kaden will be a bit more adventurous.
After lunch, Kaden perked up a little bit and was game to explore. He had a lot of fun walking around in the pool and on the dragon-themed splash pad while holding onto my fingers. I let him steer and we went wherever he wanted to go (with the exception of ducking under a big water feature that would have gotten mommy soaked.) He didn't necessarily want to get wet, but he did want to see everything up close!
I think my favorite part of the day was seeing Kaden and Jack playing together again. You can already tell this dynamic duo will give their parents a run for their money!
Yay for summer fun in Korea!
