Saturday we drove down to Auburn to see a college baseball game with our good friends Caleb and Jordan. We bought some general admission tickets in the gravel along the third base line, which gave us great seats once we ran to Walmart to buy something to sit on. haha. The game itself was fairly uneventful, but the boys loved soaking in the live baseball experience and Jordan and I soaked in the warm weather. After the game we went out to dinner at a cute little pizza place called The Mellow Mushroom. Delicious!

On Easter Sunday we decided to change things up and walk to the chapel to worship with several friends instead of driving out to the other church on the east side of town. We probably would have enjoyed the service at the big, contemporary church a lot better. But it was more important for us to be in community on Easter. I was also honestly curious to see what a stateside chapel would be like after working at the one in Misawa for two years. I will just say that we were very thankful for our Misawa chapel after visiting the Maxwell chapel. Oh well. At least we had a delicious brunch at the Egg & I to look forward to afterward.
It's always a little difficult being away from home on important holidays like this, but at least worshipping with some of our closest friends made it a memorable day with our Air Force family. And anyway, nothing could take away from the true joy of the season. He is risen!
