Drum roll please...

James has FINALLY been named! For the next three years, he will be known as SCANDOL. It stands for Supernova Cockpit and Near Death on Landing. The acronym was inspired by a couple of his flights from MQT. "Supernova Cockpit" refers to one mission where the air conditioning wasn't working in his jet. "Near Death on Landing" is for his final certification ride, which actually happened while I was out there visiting. They had some really bad weather roll in at the last minute and they had to divert to another city and land in blinding rain with very low amounts of fuel. Jon was actually supervising that mission and was kind of responsible for overseeing the weather situation, so they considered naming James ABEL because his brother tried to kill him. haha. But they decided against it. Initially, James was kind of disappointed. Since he's probably one of the least scandalous guys in the squadron, he didn't think it suits him very well. But after thinking about what the acronym means, he's starting to own it now. I'm just thankful that it's easier to say and sounds a lot cooler than his past names. B^)
